This blue-eyed sweetheart is stealing everyone’s heart with her witty personality and melodious voice. Sabrina Carpenter has appeared in several shows throughout her career, including her first role in Law and Order SVU, and just recently bagged one of the lead roles in the highly anticipated spin off of the classic Boy Meets World – Girl Meets World. Sabrina plays Maya Hart who strong and rebellious but also Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence’s (Danielle Fishel) child.
Although Boy Meets World is older than herself, Sabrina made sure to indulge in the show to better carry its legacy on screen as she portrays a character similar to Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) from Boy Meets World. “My sister bought me all of the seasons of Boy Meets World and I watched all of them and loved it” she says.
Although appearing in many other shows, Girl Meets World is a complet
ely different experience for her – “I play one of the leads in Girl Meets World, which is much different from the other shows. Also, Girl Meets the World is a family. Our cast is very close to one another and it’s just such a great, positive atmosphere on set” Sabrina shares.
Aside working on Girl Meets World, Sabrina says she would love to appear in her favourite show, Pretty Little Liars, “that show always keeps me at the edge of my seat” she says.
Not only is Sabrina a talented actress at such a young age, she also poses as a double threat with her sweet vocals. Having begun singing before acting, she expresses her love for both talents equally. “Oh man, I can’t choose between the two! I love them both!” she says. Her first EP –Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying – was released on April 14, 2014 and features her hit single that was named after the album.
As Sabrina took the Big Ticket Summer stage in Toronto on August 23, the crowd went wild with excitement but they weren’t the only ones. Sabrina explains; “I am super excited. This is the largest audience I have ever performed in front of live, and Cody Simpson is such a great artist so sharing the stage with him is such an honour. I love him and his music. I’m almost starstruck.”
