Charity Event: Fireball 13

Fireball Toronto

On Thursday, October 27, 2011, guests at hip new joint The Hoxton stepped through the looking glass into Fireball 13’s surreal world. Presented by Rogers and emceed by CityLine’s Tracy Moore, the annual charity gala raised awareness and funding for Sheena’s Place, which supports those affected by eating disorders.

Against a backdrop of décor straight from the National Ballet of Canada’s production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, guests enjoyed cocktails in teacups and other themed treats from a charcuterie spread to “Eat Me” desserts. Revelers completed the fantasy world, dressed in everything from Mad Hatter-esque top hats to playfully wacky fascinators. Guests were encouraged to sport the Queen of Hearts’ signature red shade— or risk losing their heads!

The most fantastic thing about Fireball is that 100% of proceeds go directly to eating disorder support programming at Sheena’s Place. Sheena’s Place offers services in a welcoming, non-institutional environment located in downtown Toronto. It serves as a link between people with eating disorders and hospital-based programs, schools, agencies and therapists, offering a wide range of support for those affected and their families. No referral is necessary and programs are no cost to participants.
