book4

Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

After writing a plethora of incredible books for adults (the Confessions of a Shopaholic series, Wedding Night, The Undomestic Goddess etc) British author, Sophie Kinsella, has finally turned her attention to teens and we couldn’t be more thrilled. In her debut YA novel, Sophie writes about Audrey, a 14-year-old girl suffering from Social Anxiety disorder, General Anxiety Disorder and Depressive Episodes. When Audrey’s doctor notices that she’s making little progress on the road to recovery, she encourages Audrey to take a baby step by talking to someone outside of her family. Audrey chooses Linus, her older brother’s friend and there’s an instant connection. Their relationship just might help Audrey conquer her mental illness. Like all of Sophie Kinsella books, Finding Audrey is an absolute pleasure to read; it’s smart, witty and full of heart. We highly recommend this one as a fall must-read book.

book5

Soundless by Richelle Mead

Situated on top of a mountain with no easy way down, Fei’s people are at the mercy of the “line keeper,” a mysterious man who sends minimal amounts of food up to the village via zip line in exchange for precious metals. But there’s one more thing that makes Fei’s village unique; all of its residents are deaf. That is, until one night, when Fei wakes up with her hearing restored. Now armed with the ability to hear, Fei makes it her mission to trek down the mountain and convince the line keeper to send more food to her village in order to stop her people from starving. On the way, she unveils the shocking truth behind her village’s hunger, deafness and impending blindness.  Penned by the amazing Richelle Mead (Vampire Academy, Bloodlines), Soundless is an epic story full of adventure, mythology and romance that will have you captivated from the very first page. Mark your calendar for November 2015 because you won’t want to miss this fantastical book!

book6

Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes

Described as a cross between Mean Girls and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Anatomy of a Misfit is a story about the third most popular girl in school, Annika Dragomir. On the outside she’s a cool girl but on the inside she’s a freak and she’s intent on keeping that fact a secret for fear of sliding down in her social standing. We give this book two thumbs up for its honesty and hilarity.
