Movie Review: He’s Just Not That Into You

What a cast! And that’s just the ladies.

He's Just Not That Into You

People aren’t lying when they say He’s Just Not That Into You is the must-see romantic comedy of the season! It’s about a group of organized 20-year-olds (played by mostly 40-year-olds; but who cares, as long as it’s an awesome cast?) trying to straighten out their love lives—or at least get a love life.

Gigi (played by Ginnifer Goodwin) just wants a man who calls when he says he will, while Alex (Justin Long) advises her to stop waiting by the phone for these guys. Beth (Jennifer Anniston) wonders if she should break up with her boyfriend, Neil (Ben Affleck), after 7 years of dating and no ring; Neil doesn’t think there’s a single thing wrong with their unmarried life. Janine (Jennifer Connelly) is not sure if she can trust her husband, Ben (Bradley Cooper), who doesn’t quite trust himself around Anna (Scarlett Johansson). Anna can’t decide between the married guy, Ben, or her fallback guy, Conor (Kevin Connolly)—who can’t get over the fact that he can’t have her. And then there’s Mary, who has found an entire network of loving, supportive men; but their boat just doesn’t float her way (if you catch my drift).

Throughout the movie, there is a lot of laughter from both young and old. There might be one too many storylines, but they are all set up and executed properly. “It’s nice to have all of the stories, because with them the audience is almost guaranteed to have been in at least one of the situations presented. If it was a happy situation, all the better, and if it wasn’t, well, you might feel a little better about it after seeing this,” said movie-goer Riley, 18.

He’s Just Not That Into You is the perfect movie to watch on a night out with the girls, or on a date when you just want a good laugh.
