Anything Is Possible With Barbie, Even Flat Shoes
We don’t have to beat around the bush about it, we all had a Barbie – probably a few Barbies to be honest. Barbie has done some amazing things over the years – became a superstar race car driver, landed on the moon and ruled as president. And to think that she did all of that in heels. Because she has been wearing heels since 1959, her feet have become automatically engineered to look like they’re permanently perched in a pair of 4-inch pumps. But not anymore.
The newest set of dolls from Mattel’s Barbie Fashionista line will include Barbies with adjustable ankles so that they can wear flat shoes for the first time!
This is pretty epic news but it gets even better. Not only can Barbie wear flats like all humans, the new line will include Barbies of eight different skin tones, 14 different facial sculpts, 18 eye colours, 22 hair styles and 23 different hair colour (I’m still in shock that there are 23 different hair colours..). Barbie is becoming a little bit more like you and I.
Now we’re just crossing our fingers for a full-figured Barbie with all of the right curves in the right places. It might be tough to break that mould in the plastic world, but anything is possible with Barbie.
