Movie Review: How To Train Your Dragon

From the folks that brought you the hilariousness of Shrek, DreamWorks has released a new favourite on DVD and Blu-ray: How to Train Your Dragon.

How to Train Your Dragon

Born into the ancient and mythical world of large, muscular vikings, the slim main character Hiccup just doesn’t seem to belong. But even though he lacks the brute strength of those around him, Hiccup still aspires to follow in the tradition of his ancestors and father, hoping to one day become a dragon slayer.

During an attack on the village by the beasts, Hiccup captures his very first dragon–his bow is loaded and ready for the kill…but he can’t do it! Instead, he befriends the already-injured creature, training him in secret and discovering all the things his tribe never knew about the mysterious animals.

But on an island that’s only so big, how long can Hiccup expect to hide his new best friend from his family and friends?

Who says animated flicks are just for kids? I remember seeing this one in theatres, in 3D, and it was an all-out good time. With the voice talents of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill, this film is full of fast-paced adventure and gut-wrenching laughter.
