Whether you’re a young woman just entering college or the workforce, an established adult who might be looking for a change in career, or someone a little older who is looking to inject some excitement into a lifestyle that has become routine: never fear! These days there are so many things to do out there for a woman who likes a little excitement, everything from hobbies and extracurriculars to full-on careers, if that’s what you’re into.

We’ve outlined a few of those fun, smart and exciting careers and pursuits below:

Acting/Theater

You might think, “Oh no, I couldn’t do that. It’s too unpredictable/out there and I don’t have the talent/time/energy.” You’d be wrong! The world of acting spans across so many industries, ages, levels of engagement and mediums. Seriously. You can go into play-acting, commercials, movies or tv, or even just be an extra from time to time. Small roles that only require a couple of days a month right up to living and breathing it and working every single day. Volunteer at your child’s school’s drama department, pursue joining your local theater company, or move to the city to start booking auditions. Your level of involvement is totally up to you. It’s a rewarding hobby and career, one that will boost your self-esteem, help with public speaking, make you a more well-read person, and best of all, it’s so much fun.

Become a Pilot

If we’re talking thrill-seeking, there’s simply no better hobby or career. Can you imagine soaring through the clouds, in a plane you’re navigating? There’s no better high (literally and figuratively) in this world, not to mention, is there anything cooler than a lady pilot? Not in our book. If you’re wondering how you learn to be a pilot, there’s many resources online for you. Did you know there are four different types of pilot licenses? So whether you’re looking to just pursue it as a hobby in your downtime or make it a career, you’ll find the perfect course of study for you. It’s a passion that is every bit as rewarding and lucrative as it is exciting. Becoming a pilot is the type of thing that makes people stand up and go, “wow”.

But becoming a lifeguard is an exciting career choice or part-time gig that will engage your mind as well as your body and provide you with some serious scenic views and relaxation. Journalism

Not all of us seek the same kind of thrills. It isn’t all about flying high, performing or racing along a beach. Some thrills are of a different sort. A career in journalism is certainly exciting; there’s never a dull moment. Interviewing people, covering current events and major, breaking news, and always being on top of the most recent developments is certainly an exciting thing to pursue. Depending on your interests/goals, you can rise to the top of your field and go for that Pulitzer, or just report for your small-town paper. These days, there are free-lance, part-time journalists who sub-contract out their writing to multiple outlets and work from home! It’s all about your level of engagement, but regardless, it’s a thrill-seeking and rewarding job. These days, truthful, dedicated and hardworking journalists are more important than ever before.

No matter what type of interests and passions you have, if you’re a thrill-seeker, there are tons of awesome careers out there for you to pursue. It’s a big old world, and there’s only so much time to do it all; now let’s get out there and find our passion!
