Ceder’s Gin Blends Exotic Botanicals That Are People And Planet Friendly

Ceder's Gin

Ceder’s Gin is a brand of non-alcoholic gin that was created by husband and wife team Craig Hutchison and Maria Sehlstrom. Ceder’s recipe has been developed by distilling classic gin botanicals like juniper, coriander, cardamom, and citrus, with more exotic botanicals like rooibos and buchu, sourced from the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape in South Africa – where Ceder’s gets its name. The resulting liquid is then blended with pristine Swedish water to create a non-alcoholic gin that has all the flavor and complexity of a traditional gin, without the alcohol content.

Craig and Maria are originally from South Africa, but moved to Sweden in 2015 with the idea of creating a non-alcoholic gin that captured the taste and essence of the Swedish landscape. Craig has a background in the spirits industry, having worked for a number of well-known brands such as Diageo and Bacardi. He also has experience in product development and innovation, which he used to develop the Ceder’s Gin range. Maria has a background in marketing and branding, and played a key role in developing the branding and packaging for Ceder’s Gin. She also works closely with Craig on the creative and strategic aspects of the business.

Together, Craig and Maria were inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden, with its forests, lakes, and wildflowers, and they wanted to create a gin that captured the essence of this landscape. They spent two years developing the Ceder’s Gin range, using a combination of traditional and modern techniques to create a unique taste and aroma, and in 2017 launched their business.

Ceder’s Gin comes in four different flavors: Classic, which has a traditional gin taste; Crisp, which has a fresh and citrusy taste; Wild, which is made with botanicals inspired by the Swedish forest and Pink Rose, which is a fruity and floral gin.

We love that Ceder’s is committed to achieving global carbon neutrality. This means that the company aims to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible, and offset any remaining carbon emissions through various initiatives.

To achieve global carbon neutrality, Ceder’s is taking a number of steps. Firstly, the company is working to reduce its energy consumption and emissions by implementing energy-efficient practices in its production processes, and using renewable energy sources where possible.

Secondly, Ceder’s is offsetting any remaining carbon emissions through the purchase of carbon credits. These carbon credits support projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as renewable energy projects and forest conservation initiatives.

Ceder’s is also committed to sustainability in other areas of its operations. For example, the company uses only natural botanicals in its gin, and sources these ingredients sustainably. Ceder’s also uses environmentally friendly packaging materials and has implemented a recycling program to reduce waste.

Today, Ceder’s Gin is enjoyed by people all over the world, and the company continues to be led by Craig and Maria, who remain committed to creating innovative and sustainable products that capture the spirit of the Swedish landscape.
