Getting To Know Chrissie Fit AKA Cheechee In ‘Teen Beach 2’

Dive in and rock out with the hottest surf sequel under the sun! Now that summer ‘s over and school has begun, Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack’s (Maia Mitchell) relationship seems headed for a wipeout – until Lela, Tanner and the Wet Side Story kids show up! Dazzled by the originality and diversity of the modern world, Lela wants to stay, but the real world and the “reel” world just don’t mix. Can Mack and Brady find the magic to get the kids home and get their own romance back on track before it’s too late?

Faze caught up with Chrissie Fit who plays the sassy, biker babe to chat about her favourite Teen Beach 2 number, how she got into acting and her dream role.

 What is Cheechee like?

Cheechee is kind of the like the bad, biker babe. She’s part of “Rodents” crew and they’re the bikers in Wet Side Story, which is Brady’s favourite movie. She’s really tough and sassy. She’s very loyal and she’s kind of funny because she’s tough and talks in a really high pitched voice. She has very, very exaggerated hair – the biggest beehive ever that adds an extra foot to my height.

Would you say that she’s anything like you in real life? Do you share any qualities?

I am not in a bike gang, I left those days behind! I’m a loyal person, I’m a loyal friend, and I can be sassy when I have to be but I’m not nearly as tough and unmovable as Cheechee. When she has an idea, she sticks to it, like how she thinks that surfers are bad. In the second movie, it takes a little turn.

What’s your favourite number on Teen Beach 2?

I love “Falling For You” the remix because I sang that with Jordan Fisher, who plays Seacat in the movie. “Falling For You” is from Teen Beach Movie and it was such a great song, and it’s great that we get to do it in a different style of music. We included a lot of different styles in the second movie because it’s set in modern day, so there’s more pop, rock and this song is a little bit more mow town – it kind of has a Tina Turner feel to it. We get to do some physical comedy, sing, act and dance and be kind of ridiculous so that’s my favourite number.

What was your first introduction to acting?

It’s a funny story actually. My school was putting on a play and the guy that I liked was going to go and see it, because he was a sixth grader and all of the sixth graders were going. I was in fifth grade and I thought that if I was in the show then he would see him and fall in love with me. So I did my best to get into the show but there were no more parts. So the next day I came back to school and I pitched the Spanish teacher and idea: what if I’m the bad girl. I created this whole character and I don’t know if she felt bad for me or was really impressed that I took the initiative but she put me in the play. That was my first play ever and I fell in love with acting. The guy did not fall in love with me but its okay because I was introduced to my true love which is acting. I think I came on top there, because I checked out his Facebook page and I dodged a bullet.

What would your dream role be?

My dream role is more like a dream situation. I’m a writer too and so my dream situation would be to produce a movie that I wrote, with my writing partner, and also star in it. That would be the coolest thing ever. I’m a very creative person and I think that to create change and see more females in movies, you have to write and create your own contest. I’ve been focusing on that a lot because it kind of gives you back the power in a way.

What advice would you give to aspiring actors who are trying to break into the acting industry?

Definitely you need to study, and not just acting. It’s a must to take acting classes and really learn your craft, but you also need to do well in school. I can’t tell you how much my education has helped me in my acting. Also, don’t give up. If I can do it – I’m a girl from Hialeah, Florida and I went to LA, and didn’t know anyone. I followed my dreams, went there blindly, but studied hard and worked hard. That’s one of the most important things, you need to stick to it and have the passion for it. Never give up.

What’s next for you?

There’s a couple of things that are on the horizon but I can’t really talk about it yet. I finished writing a script and hopefully within a year we will be able to make my dream situation come true!CHRISSIE FIT

AND THEN SOME:

Must-have summer accessory: Raybands

Three things I always carry in my purse: phone, phone charger and mascara

To calm my nerves I like to: take bubble baths

Favourite song at the moment: “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift (I love everything Taylor Swift)

Grossest thing I’ve ever eaten: when I was Ecuador I ate a deep dried grasshopper – ew!

Biggest pet peeve: when I can see someone’s underwear – boy or girl. No one wants to see that!
