If you love to travel, enjoy trying new foods, want to discover beautiful cultures and guarantee Insta-worthy moments, then you need to experience Carassauga, the largest multi-cultural festival in Canada.
Since its inaugural event in 1986, beginning with 10 pavilions over two days, Carassauga has blossomed into a three-day cultural extravaganza.
This year Dixie Outlet Mall will kick off the festival on May 4th, save the date! With an inclusive and interactive parade that will travel through the mall, winding past over 130 retailers, such as Urban Planet, The Source, EB Games, The Nike Clearance Store, and Aldo. The parade begins at 1:00pm and features nine vibrant cultural performances that will transport you to many countries around the world. From 1:45pm to 4:00pm the Dixie Living Room, a bright 3,100 square foot event space, will be overflowing with arts, crafts and cultural displays from 29 countries. The parade is full of bright colours and everlasting entertainment, you can capture on insta and snapchat! Best of all, the activities and international festivities are free!
On May 25th and 26th, you can also visit Dixie Outlet Mall’s booth at Carassauga held at Paramount Fine Foods Centre, North parking lot. Hours: Saturday May 25th 12:00pm-12:00am, Sunday May 26th 12:00pm-8:00pm. Dixie Outlet Mall, Mississauga’s go-to discount destination, is an ongoing force in supporting the local community and promotes celebrating cultural diversity.
In 2018, Carassauga hosted 944 performances, had over 400,000 attendees, highlighted 190 artisans, while showcasing over 70 countries. This year there will be 29 cultural pavilions including Columbia, Cyprus, Ecuador, Korea, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam. With 21 stages and non-stop entertainment across 12 festival locations throughout Mississauga, Ontario this is a weekend-getaway that allows you to travel the world without leaving the city.

Carassauga is an incorporated non-profit volunteer organization that celebrates, educates and engages the community to highlight Mississauga’s multicultural diversity. Last year 6,395 volunteers helped create an unforgettable event.
