Canada’s Faze Media has been named the official global media partner to UNESCO MGIEP, the #KindnessMatters Global Campaign and 2020 World Youth Conference on Kindness

We are so proud to announce that Faze Media has been named the official global media partner to UNESCO MGIEP (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development), the #KindnessMatters Global Campaign and its 2020 2nd Annual World Youth Conference on Kindnessto be held virtually on October 24th and 25th, 2020.

Founder and CEO, Lorraine Zander says, “When I launched Faze over 20 years ago, as a female and visible minority with no experience and few connections in the publishing world, I knew it would be challenging, but that it would also be rewarding. We are thrilled to now partner with UNESCO MGIEP and continue our mission to empower young people to become agents of change.”

Faze Media is responsible for several strong contributions to the campaign and conference including:

  1. Collecting and amplifying stories of kindness of Canadian and global youth
  2. Nominating highly accomplished Canadian and global youth as keynote speakers and panelists, including Larissa Crawford: a published Indigenous (Métis) and anti-racism researcher from Calgary, Alberta
  3. Encouraging a critical mass of youth to submit comments for the draft Kindness Declaration calling on Governments to declare an official United Nations International Day of Kindness and encouraging youth to register for the Kindness Conference
  4. Organizing the Kindness Concert with diverse artists from Argentina, Colombia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

About the #KindessMatters Campaign and 2020 World Youth Conference on Kindness 
The UNESCO MGIEP #KindnessMatters global campaign aims to mobilize the world’s youth to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals through transformative acts of kindness. On October 24 and 25, 2020, UNESCO MGIEP and global partners will host the 2nd World Youth Conference on Kindness centered on the theme Kindness for Co-existence: ‘Learning to Live Together’, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the UN and to re-affirm the central role of empathy, compassion, and kindness to achieve the SDGs. The Conference and campaign will call on governments to create a new United Nations International Day of Kindness.
