Getting Loud For R5: Concert Review

R5 brought together people aged 5-99 creating a concert experience like no other.

R5 Concert

On April 5th the star of Disney Channel’s hit TV, Ross Lynch rocked the house of the Town Ballroom in Buffalo with his band R5 during their LOUD tour. Stealing the hearts of many pre-teen and teenage girls, Ross Lynch, along with brothers Riker, and Rocky, hit the stage with sister Rydel and family friend Ratliff.

After opening acts Alex Aiono, Taylor Matthews and the band Sunderland, the crowd was pumped up and ready for R5 to hit the stage. Chanting “R5! R5! R5!”, the teenaged girls could not wait to see the band perform.

Singing songs from their newly released EP Loud, along with hits from Ross’ hit TV show such as “A Billion Hits” and “Heard It On the Radio.” Not only did the lead boys have a chance to sing, but drummer Ratliff and keyboardist Rydel charmed the crowd with their covers of Macklemore’s hit “Thrift Shop” and “Shut Up and Let Me Go” by the Ting Tings.

R5 Concert

Triple threats Ross, Riker and Rocky showed that they could do more than just sing and play an instrument. Throughout the show, the boys showed off their smooth moves while dancing and playing their instruments in sync.

Thanking the crowd several times throughout the show, the band showed love to their fans by throwing guitar picks and bracelets to the audience. Another special treat was after the show when R5 had a special meet-and-greet at their merch table for those who could not attend the pre-show VIP meet-and-greet.

R5 with Brie Davis

This concert was definitely one to remember as R5 and the rest of the bands showed their true talent without any special effects. The amazing music and friendly people definitely sent kids home to watch marathons of “Austin & Ally” wishing they could go back to this night.
