After rebuilding their popularity through their wildly successful 2004 album American Idiot, Green Day continues their work with NRDC (The Natural Resources Defense Council). The purpose of the NRDC is to protect all that the earth has to offer–be it plants, animals or people.
The NRDC already has 1.2 million online activists and members, who use the power of science and law to challenge “corporate polluters and government indifference.” With Green Day having sold more than 85 million albums worldwide, there is no doubt that their backing of this organization can only encourage more awareness toward several global issues.
