There’s no denying that this is our favourite time of year. Hearing Christmas carols and seeing decorations everywhere makes you feel warm and bubbly inside. So why not decorate your nails this season and show your holiday cheer?
Our guide of three nail tutorials are super-easy and will help you get into the season festivities.
1) Christmas Lights Nails
For this tutorial we will be using our favourite pair of imPRESS nails. It’s a quick and easy way to have a perfect nail base for our nail art.
Out of the large range of sizes, be sure to pre-select the ones that fit you best.
Using the prep pad, clean the surface of your nails. This will help your imPRESS nails last up to a week.
Remove the adhesive strips and apply your nails. There’s no waiting for polish to dry and we now have the perfect base for our nails.
Using a black nail art applicator, draw a continuous line across all your nails. Don’t worry if it’s a little messy, our Christmas lights will cover that up.
With the tip of a red nail polish, dab a circle along the black line to create your Christmas lights. This is also good way to hide any imperfections.
Dab some more circles with different colours to achieve your finished look.
2) Candy Cane Statement Nails
To start off, be sure you have filed, buffed and primed your nails. Using a basecoat will help your nail art last longer.
With a nice rich red nail polish apply two even coats, cleaning up around the edges as you go. Reds can tend to stain your cuticles and skin so try and be as neat as possible.
We will be using the decorative tip on the Revlon Expressionist applicator to create our candy cane statement nail.
With the applicator draw two thick diagonal lines across your nail.
Add two thin lines and finish off with two thicker lines for your finished candy cane nail design. You can repeat the design on all your nails or keep it on one as a statement piece.
3) Winter Wonderland Nails
With a light baby blue polish apply two even coats. Don’t worry too much about cleaning around the edges for now.
Using a white nail polish, paint across the bottom of your nail. This can be messy, so be sure to clean up around the edges. I left one nail blank for my statement nail.
Add a coat of a glittery nail polish to create the illusion of a winter snowfall.
For our statement nail, we will be using the same nail tip applicator from our second tutorial to draw a vertical line down the middle. Then addd a horizontal one across it.
Add lines diagonally and then finish off with a dab of polish on the tips to create our finished snowflake.
