With school getting busier and winter just around the corner, you might be lacking the motivation to get to the gym, or worse, you don’t even have a membership. Here are a few ways for you to get fit without going to the gym.
Let’s face it, following the same routine at the gym every week can get boring, not to mention the expense of being a member. Even without a membership, there are plenty of activities available to help you stay in shape while having fun at the same time.
Go for a hike
Get outdoors and in touch with nature by taking a walk. There are many breathtaking trails to explore and walking is an easy and accessible way to get fit on your own time. The best part is that walking is 100 percent free, so get to it!
Join a team
If you’re competitive and enjoy sports, try out for a team. There are a variety of organized sports teams to choose from so finding one that interests you should be simple. You’ll burn tons of calories just by playing a game and you might even make a few new friends. It’s a win-win!

You spend hours watching your favourite beauty gurus on YouTube, so why not find your favourite fitness guru? Whether you’re into Pilates, dancing or hard core boot camp, there’s a YouTuber out there to motivate you to get moving. It’s like having your own personal trainer, anytime you want, from the comfort of your home. What more could you ask for?

In addition to the increasing popularity of fitness trackers, there are now many apps available. Fitness apps can provide quick workouts, count how many calories you’ve burned, and keep track of how often you’re moving your feet throughout the day. Since most of us rely so heavily on our phones, a fitness app might be an easy way to help get in a daily workout. Take the stairs
If you don’t have access to fitness equipment like a treadmill, you can still make use of what you do have: stairs. You can do a variety of workouts on the stairs. Climb up and down a few times, do squats or push ups, use them as a stepping board, and more. Also, remember to take the stairs instead of the elevator at school or work. You’ll be surprised at the intensity (and leg soreness) you achieve from a stair workout!
Practising yoga can be very beneficial for both your physical and mental health and it is something that can easily be done at home. All you need is a mat and time.
