From Sweden with a swagger it’s The Hives! Featuring Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, Nicholaus Arson, Vigilante Carlstroem, Dr. Matt Destruction and Chris Dangerous, these Scandinavian rockers have lofty expectations for their fourth release, The Black and White Album. “The record is definitely good enough to (sell) 176 million copies,” says a confident Arson. After three barely 30 minute albums, The Hives have taken it up notch here. Consisting of bombastic tracks like “Tick Tick Boom,” and “Won’t Be Long,” The Hives are growing up musically, and becoming more cocksure than ever. “We do exactly what we want,” continues Arson. “Once we finish a record, we go, ‘This is great, there is no one doing music as good as this today.’”
