Did you know…
70% of the one billion people living in extreme poverty are women and girls?
The challenge may seem quite overwhelming, but there is hope. Because I Am A Girl (or BIAAG) is an organization that believes girls deserve the same opportunities that are given to boys (and we wholeheartedly agree!) and they are working to invest in girls around the world, as a key to change.
September 2010–BIAAG held a Pink LemonAid Event at various locations across Toronto, raising awareness and funds for their campaign, with the help of some celebrities that lent a hand to the cause.
Check out our photos from their time at MuchMusic and don’t forget to visit the website to see how you can get involved!
REMEMBER: Because I am a girl… I can change the world.
Melinda Shankar (Degrassi, How to be Indie), Tyler Kyte (Sweet Thing) & Paula Brancati (Degrassi, Being Erica) serve pink lemonAID to fans.
Yummmm… pink is the new lemon.
Juggling for a great cause: looks totally safe, right?
Cheers! Here’s to changing the world, one girl at a time… or, um, in this case… one girl and one fan of girls at a time. 🙂
We brought along some quality reading material for the stars! Tyler Kyte and Owen Carrier (The Sweet Thing).
MuchMusic VJ Sarah Taylor poses with fans.
A little VJ love: Liz Trinnear, Jesse Giddings and Sarah Taylor.
Melinda Shankar: this girl is always so much fun!!!
After all the hard work is done, I finally get some pink lemonAID!
