Canadian Band Faber Drive Gets Into Gear

Faber Drive

Even our favourite bands slip into the role of ultimate fan from time to time, and Faber Drive is no exception. Inspired by the iconic Def Leppard, Faber Drive has an aim similar to their idols’: searching for that perfect sound—they want their music to be the best that it can be and that means always evolving.

If you’ve heard their latest album, can’T keEp A SecrEt, with its mix of sounds—both old and new—you’ll agree their hard work is unmistakable; their singles “G-Get Up and Dance” and “Give Him Up” have both climbed onto the charts and into our hearts (and iPods!).

Like some of the best artists, Faber Drive finds inspiration in “experiences, relationships and hearing other people’s stories.” But perhaps what makes their music epic is their aim to make their lyrics visual and create a captivating melody.

And although songwriting is a crucial part of the process, being on stage is what makes it all worth it. “I don’t think there is anything like the rush of getting on stage in front of 5 or 10 or 15,000 people and hearing them all sing the lyrics to your song back to you,” says lead vocalist Dave Faber.
