A huge mistake most first-time parents make is not preparing for the upcoming seasons at least two or three months ahead. Do not wait till December or November to start searching for a winter wardrobe for a baby. Buy everything in the middle of the summer or at the beginning of October to have a variety of options and save more. You can find expensive baby girl clothing sets for newborns and up to 24 months babies for winter at half-price if it is autumn or summer now.

In case you haven’t prepared a winter baby wardrobe yet, here is a couple of interesting ideas you can find useful too.

Basic Items in a Baby Wardrobe

You don’t need to order a bunch of stuff to keep your baby warm in winter. A winter capsule wardrobe is enough. We recommend investing in qualitative items. Don’t get a bunch of similar sweaters, onesies, and socks if you don’t know exactly how big a winter baby wardrobe should be. Remember, quality over quantity.

  • Onesies. For a little baby, a onesie is a must-have time in the wardrobe. Buy eight, nine, or even ten onesies for a winter season. You can find them in a variety of prints and designs. Make sure you’ve got at least one fleece onesie.
  • A clothing set. Having a set of a pair of pants and a little long-sleeve T-shirt makes it easier for parents to pick up the outfit. A set is already a finished outfit. You can pick two simple sets and one fancy set for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Go for super soft fabrics like 100% organic cotton.
  • A sweater with the buttons. Do not buy sweaters with a tight neck without buttons. Instead, pick cardigans that are easy to take on and off. Avoid acrylic cardigans. For a baby, you want warm, organic fabrics only. How many sweaters does your baby need? It depends. Get at least, three-four cardigans of nice quality.
  • Leggings. Get several soft leggings, which your baby can wear underneath a snowsuit or a pair of warm pants. It is better if the leggings do not have any decorative elements on them. Such leggings are more comfortable.
  • Buy a bunch of warm socks. Keep your baby’s feet warm all the time.
  • Next, get a pair of winter boots. The type of boots you want to get depends on the winter temperatures in your region. Look for waterproof fabrics with a thick lining. Usually, the manufacturers tag the temperatures their boots comfort. Always look for that kind of information first.

If you want to get the best deals and discounts, shop in advance. But keep in mind that babies grow fast. If you shop for winter clothes in the summer, look for a bigger size than the size your baby is wearing right now.
