Huawei Expands Their Lineup With Impressive Watches, Earbuds, Router

Huawei Canada Wearable Tech FreeBuds Watch GT Pro

Huawei has unveiled an impressive new generation of wearable tech for the Canadian market, just in time for the holidays. The Chinese tech behemoth has been expanding its offering of consumer products to Canada throughout 2020. Notably, it started with the introduction of three high quality, high value Huawei laptops (read more here) earlier in the year to complement their P series and Mate series smartphones that have consistently been at the top their class for the last few years. Two current Huawei tablet models are also available to Canadian consumers.

For your ears: FreeBuds 3i and FreeBuds Pro

Huawei FreeBuds Pro - 3i

This month we are seeing even more new product categories being filled in. Two new wireless earbuds have arrived, the mid-range Huawei FreeBuds 3i which comes with active noise cancellation, 3 way mic system, 3.5 hours life and a sleek compact case that offers another 14.5 hours of charge.

The high-end Huawei FreeBuds Pro may be the best buds on the market. We’ll review these soon too, but they’re already getting rave early reviews from top tech review sites. Next level noise cancellation with multiple modes including voice mode, anti-wind design, enhanced dual antenna connections, comfort, easy controls – all combine to make the FreeBuds Pro the ultimate complement  wireless setup.  And as seems to be the standard wow factor for nearly all Huawei products, an incredible battery life, up to a maximum of 30 hours when combined with the recharging case.

Fitness inspiration on your wrist: Huawei Watch Fit

Huawei Watch Fit

Looking to out-fit FitBit in the mainstream fitness watch market, the new Huawei Watch Fit brings a sleek lightweight, rectangle watch body with a 1.64″ HD colour screen, and comfortable bands that currently come in black and sakura pink.

The Watch Fit does everything you’d expect from a fitness watch plus some extras: sleep monitoring, 24 hour heart rate and stress monitoring, and a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) sensor – suddenly a very popular standalone measurement device in COVID times.

Huawei Watch Fit

Throw in 4 Gb onboard memory, SMS messages, GPS tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, 96 workout modes and quick-workout animations (effectively a private trainer on your wrist) and a new, healthier, fitness-focused future you’ve been promising yourself may come a lot easier than it would have otherwise. All-in-all great value for the price.

And it doesn’t matter what smartphone you own, the Watch Fit (and the Watch GT 2 Pro) work perfectly with iOS and Android as well as any Huawei phone (who for at least part of 2020 took over the crown as the No. 1 smartphone maker in the world).

La pièce de résistance – Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro

HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 Pro

We have already said it in a couple of social posts this month and will repeat it here: this is the only smartwatch that truly looks like it could be a $1000 modern fashion watch. It  is simply a gorgeous piece of tech. It’s a worthy flagship smartwatch for Huawei, who have rocketed into 2nd position in global smartwatch sales over the last year.

A week into testing a demo model, we are only just scratching the surface of what this wearable modern masterpiece can do. Oh, and now that we’ve mentioned scratching the surface, literally, that will be nearly impossible as the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro sports a titanium casing and sapphire glass face. Two colour options are available, Night Black, and our unanimous preference, Nebula Grey.

There is so much to say here about what is easily our top pick for a smartwatch in 2020, from the design to the incredibly long battery life (up to two weeks). We’ll be doing a standalone review of this smartwatch in the next couple of weeks but for now here are just a few of its many impressive features:

  • Speaker/Microphone for phone calls
