About Sam Drysdale
Sam Drysdale is a rising singer-songwriter from Guelph, Ontario, Canada, who was the winner of Slaight Music’s fourth annual “It’s Your Shot” contest. Raised by musical parents, he was influenced from an early age by a wide range of artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, John Prine, and Carole King.
After high school, Drysdale attended the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, where he was quickly recognized as a “songwriter to watch.” His original music has been cited multiple times by the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International. His debut EP, The Fight, was produced by two award-winning producers, Davor Jordanovski and Grammy winner Paul Brown.
Drysdale’s music has been compared to artists like Alex Clare, Ray LaMontagne, and John Mayer. However, his sound is unique, and his ability to write mature, compelling, and catchy songs belies his young age. The Fight showcases his talent, with six lyrically significant and brilliantly produced tracks that put the integrity of the song first. It’s a powerful debut from a young artist on the verge of international acclaim.
